Finding some clarity among the “porn panic” noise with scientific and evidence-based information.

Much of what we think we know – and fear- about pornography isn’t actually supported by science. The fear-mongering narratives about pornography are motivated by anecdotes, anti-porn values of individuals wanting to impose their distaste on others, and religious morality, rather than scientific data. It is easy to be misguided and misinformed. This misinformation can increase distress, shame and sex-negative views in people accessing pornography.

This is not a pro-porn website, as we recognise that pornography viewing may be problematic for some individuals. This website is a neutral, nuanced and scientifically informed website, with no hidden religiosity, collecting the appropriate studies to offer some balance in thinking critically about pornography. This is a non-profit website.
